Swirly Flowers Series

White and Pink Flowers
11x14" Acrylic on canvas (SOLD)
I've been thinking about doing something like this for a few weeks but had so many other paintings started and/or nearly finished that I didn't think I could start on it for a while. I decided to just do it since my sister liked the sketch and I have her name for Christmas this year. I think it turned out really well and am going to do some more in various color schemes.

Tall Green Trees

14x20" Acrylic on paper ($180 - Purchase on Etsy.com)
I love the idea of this painting but don't really love the way the tops of the trees turned out. It looks pretty good on my wall though. I'm probably just being too critical.

Red Poppies

11.5x19.5" Watercolor and ink on paper (not for sale)
I did a smaller version of this painting as a gift and liked it so much I decided to do a larger one. I started it months ago before my move but was quite distracted and it took a long time to come back to it. I think part of the reason was I wasn't liking where it was going after so many starts and stops. It was good to finally get it finished and out of my to do pile. I might do another painting similar but without the black outlines.

Red Sky Paintings

Red Sky I
11" x 14" acrylic on canvas
I've been inspired by a few different artists lately and wanting to play around with watercolor techniques using acrylic paints. This is the result. I love the little green line in between the white and the dark red toward the bottom of the painting. This is something you have to get pretty close to the painting to even see. I might still go back and make the line more bold.

Red Sky II
11" x 14" acrylic on canvas
This is essentially the same as the first one. I wanted two similar paintings to hang on either side of my bookcase. As you can probably tell, red, orange and yellow are my favorite colors. I seem to use them a lot.

Trees

I've been thinking about trees for years and wanting to paint some so I gave it a try last month.

4 Trees I9" x 12" acrylic on canvas ($112 - SOLD)
Much better picture than the last one. In my bright and sunny world I have to wait for a partly cloudy day and then take pictures quickly while the sun is behind the clouds. It takes a while to get good pictures, especially when my two kids are trying to feed me pretend food (sand and rocks) or getting their shadows in the way.

4 Trees II12" x 16" acrylic on canvas (not for sale)
Most of the time when I start some new kind of painting I like the original painting the best, but in this case I like the second painting best, mostly. I like the color of the sky in the first painting best.

Single Tree4" x 5" acrylic on paper (SOLD)
I struggled with this one for a little while and didn't really like it. The other day as I walked into my studio and glanced at it I decided it was pretty good. I kind of like painting really small every once and a while.

Kids Series

Giraffe8" x 10" watercolor on paper (Not for Sale, Prints available for $12 - Purchase on Etsy.com)
I'm not completely happy with this one yet. The sky is too dark and I might try again with acrylics instead of watercolor.

Momma Purple Guy and Her Babies
11"x 14" watercolor on paper (Not for Sale)
I thought the last Purple Guy needed to have some babies, and to be a girl.
